Some Things You Carry Alone

Everyone’s got something to say, Advice for every kind of pain. They mean well, I understand, But some weight don’t fit in other hands.

They tell you, “Talk it out, be strong,” Like words don’t ever come out wrong. But some things break if you expose — They’re better carried, not disclosed.

I’ve learned the difference, right or wrong, Between sharing weight and staying strong.

Some things you carry alone, Like a scar you never show. You don’t explain it, don’t give it a name, You just live with it and go. Some things don’t need a witness, Don’t need to be known. Some things you carry alone.

I’ve smiled through rooms full of noise, Felt empty under all that voice. Nodded when they said, “You’re good,” Even when I knew I wasn’t — but stood.

Not every truth wants daylight, Some only survive at night. And I don’t owe the world my soul Just to prove I’m whole.

Peace don’t always come from relief, Sometimes it comes from letting things be.
