Storm rolled in like a wild decree, Sky split open right over me. She grabbed my hand, said, “Time to run — Let’s take the night, outshoot the sun.”

Lightning cracked as we hit the ridge, Boots on fire on the desert bridge. She laughed like sin, kissed me like war — Said, “Let’s give God somethin’ worth fighting for.”
