Don’t fear the truth, no matter how bitter… It’s the only thing that don’t burn quicker.

I’ve lied to ghosts, I’ve prayed to clay, Watched good men turn their hearts away. But every sin I tried to hide, Came crawling out beneath the light.

Don’t fear the truth, no matter how bitter, It cuts like steel, but it burns you cleaner. You can run, you can drink, you can beg to forget, But the truth will ride beside you yet.

I saw a preacher choke on his grace, A lawman cry with a sinner’s face. We’re all the same when the day bleeds red, Only truth stands when the lies are dead.
