The Devil Rode Shotgun (Phonk)
TitanChord
Intro
Picked up a passenger a long way back.
He never asked where we were headed.
Verse 1
The day I quit my prayin', somebody climbed in
Didn't say his name, didn't need to
Red dust on his boots, gold tooth in his grin
And a list of every man I'd been led to
I do the drivin', he just points down the road
Points at the ones who thought they got away
Judge, the sheriff, the man the law let go —
The devil rode shotgun, and he knows the way
Chorus
The devil rode shotgun, I took the wheel
We been ridin' since the day I stopped prayin'
He don't judge, he don't flinch, he don't feel
He just points at the ones need payin'
Verse 2
Folks cross the street when they see this old truck
Say the man who drives it done sold his soul
They got it wrong — I didn't trade my luck
I just found a partner who shares my goal
Chorus
The devil rode shotgun, I took the wheel
We been ridin' since the day I stopped prayin'
He don't judge, he don't flinch, he don't feel
He just points at the ones need payin'
Bridge
One day this road's gonna run right out
And he'll turn to me and point at my own door
I made my peace with that, without a doubt
A man like me was always gonna settle a score
The devil rode shotgun, I took the wheel
We been ridin' since the day I stopped prayin'
He don't judge, he don't flinch, he don't feel
He just points at the ones need payin'
Outro
Next stop. He's pointin' again.
