Free Dark Country Music for YouTube Videos (No Claims From Me)

Every song I've put on this site is a free download. Every so often somebody writes to ask whether that means they can put one under a video. The short answer is yes, and the longer answer is this post, because "free" on the internet usually has a catch and I'd rather spell mine out than have you find it later.

I make dark country and outlaw ballads. I use AI to produce the sound; the words and the reason each song exists are mine. Everything below applies to songs where the artist is TitanChord. The rest of the site has other people's music on it too, so the safe list is the TitanChord catalog page, not the radio or the mixed pack.

What you can do without asking

If you're making a video for yourself, a hobby channel, a school project, a gaming stream, a road-trip edit, a montage of your grandfather's photos, use the music. Cut it, fade it, loop it, put it under narration. You don't need to email me and you don't need to wait for a reply.

The one thing I ask is a credit line in the description:

That's it. No hashtags, no tagging ritual. The credit is the whole price, and I'm asking for it because it's how the next person finds the songs.

What I promise, and what I can't

I try to say only what I actually control, so here it is plainly.

What I promise:

• I will never file a copyright claim, mute, or strike a video for using my

songs with credit. Not for a hobby channel, not for a monetized one, not if the video does well. If a claim ever shows up that traces back to my side, email me and I'll release it.

• If you need written permission to point at (some people do, for a client or

a school), email me and you'll get a plain letter saying you have it.

• The songs stay free. I'm not going to change the terms on a video you

already published.

What I can't promise:

• That no claim will ever appear. YouTube's matching system and third-party

claimants aren't mine. If a distributor, a sample library, or a bot decides a song matches something, that's a dispute, and my written permission is what backs your side of it. I'll answer those emails.

• That the AI tools I use can't ever become a question. I've read the terms I

work under and I stand behind these songs, but I'm one guy with a catalog, not a legal department. If your project needs a warranty, it needs a different kind of music license than a blog post can give.

I'd rather you read that paragraph and decide than trust a page that says "100% claim-free forever" and then leaves you on your own.

When to email first

Anything where the music is doing commercial work: a client video, an ad, a product launch, a film festival submission, a podcast with sponsors, a company channel. Write to titanchord@gmail.com, tell me what the project is, and I'll tell you yes or what it would take. Most of the time the answer is still yes with credit. I ask so I know where the songs are going, and so you have something in writing.

Same for anything I'd want to know about before it went up. If the video is built around the song (a lyric video, a cover, a remix), that's fine, but tell me, because I might want to link it.

Picking a song for a video

Some practical notes on which songs sit where.

Narration under it. The slow, sparse songs sit better under a voice. Death Rides a Slow Horse is the one I'd start with: a steady walking tempo, not much in the high end, nothing fighting with speech. The gothic and doom-folk side of the catalog works the same way. Cain is fingerpicked and mostly empty in the middle, so a voice fits inside it.

Montages and intros. The cinematic outlaw tracks were made for this without me meaning to. The Reaper Missed and Bury Me with the Bullets both have a long intro you can cut on, a chorus that lands hard around the one-minute mark, and a clear ending. Cut to the drum hits.

Streams and long sessions. Put the outlaw section on shuffle. Every song has full lyrics on its page, so if a viewer asks what that was, you can paste a link instead of guessing.

Instrumentals. I don't make many. If you need a stretch without vocals, the intros and outros are the best I've got; some run 20 to 30 seconds. Download the MP3 and trim it. That's allowed.

The honest version of the trade

I'm giving the music away because I want it heard, and a video on a channel I've never seen is a better place for a song than a folder on my drive. In return I get a line in a description and, sometimes, a stranger who follows the link and stays. That's the whole business model, if you can call it one.
